Where In The World Can Brits Travel Without A Visa [Infographic]
There are so many organisational headaches to be had when planning a trip abroad.
Whether it’s preparing the right type of clothing, organising airport transfers or printing the boarding passes off in advance, there’s lots to sort out.
However, no matter where you are heading to, there is one thing you can’t travel without, your passport.
British people are lucky enough to hold one of the most respected travel documents on the planet.
This reputation means that a British passport can get you into a massive number of countries without the need for a visa on arrival, or the need to apply in advance.
Obviously, it would still be risky to assume that you are safe to enter any country without one. So, before you embark on any trip it’s best to do your research.
For example, for European residents travelling within the continent, crossing borders is pretty seamless and requires no visas.
However, there are three countries in Europe which do require visas, those being Belarus, Azerbaijan and Russia. These three examples show just how important it is to check in advance.
Checking the visa rules may become even more important in the future following Britain’s decision to leave the European Union.
Although it looks as though it may take a lot longer than many first thought to exit the EU, (Current estimates suggest March 2019) the possibility of it affecting border crossing for British passport holders is all but guaranteed.
As this article from the Telegraph points out, while EU membership currently allows for smooth border crossings, although things could change.
The most difficult part of this currently seems to be that there are no concrete answers as to what the future holds for British travellers.
Current Visa Rules
Because visa changes seem to be a little way off, it is important for British passport holders to be aware of the current rulings.
Thankfully, City Base Apartments have created a really handy infographic to provide you with all of the relevant information.
It’s titled ‘Where In The World Can Brits Travel Without A Visa’ and you can take a look for yourself at the bottom of this post.
This infographic is helpful for a number of reasons, one being that it distinguishes between different visa rulings.
For example, some countries allow you to fill in a visa on arrival, meaning that there is nothing to worry about until you touch down. The majority of these nations are in Africa.
There are also certain nations which require an electronic visa. These can also be quickly sorted, although not as simply as the visas on arrival.
However, the catch here is that the time in which the visa allows you to stay in the country can vary massively.
If you are planning on venturing on holiday outside of Europe in 2017, this infographic can serve as a quick reminder to get your visa sorted.
With administrative troubles out the way, you’ll have plenty of time to concentrate on planning all the exciting stuff for your holiday.
