And while the rich and famous are no different in wanting to get away, the destinations that they head to might be!
It looks at where some of the world’s most successful people choose to spend their vacations and is sure to have you green with envy.
As you can imagine, secluded locations away from the prying eyes of the media are among the most popular.
For example, Bill Gates often heads to the Croatian island of Hvar. It’s not one of the most well-known destinations in the world but that suits Bill down to a tee.
The fact it claims itself to be “the sunniest spot in Europe” probably helps too!
While he’s recently come in for criticism for sunning himself off the coast of Malta while BHS is in crisis, Sir Philip Green may have wished he’d headed to another of usual holiday destinations, the Maldives, popular amongst celebrities wishing to stay out of the public eye.
As for Mark Zuckerberg, one of the richest people in the world, he prefers Kauai in Hawaii, where he purchased a property for an unfathomable $100 million!
There are even those who have taken that need to privacy that one step further and bought their own private islands!
We’ve all heard about Sir Richard Branson’s famous Necker Island, which suffered from a catastrophic fire back in 2011.
However, did you know that Dietrich Mateschitz, co-founder of Red Bull also owns his own island?
But don’t go getting any idea, Laucala, off the coast of Fiji set Mateschitz back a whopping $10 million!
For some though, it’s not all about sitting on a beach sipping cocktails. For example, Thomas Siebel, a major name in the innovative world of the ‘Internet of Things’ prefers to head off on Safari in the Kenyan Serengeti!
While we may never be able to afford the kind of getaways that these successful folk can, we can certainly dream!
