The Best Music Festivals Across The UK in 2015

1. The Great Escape
A three day festival held across Brighton in churches, pubs, streets and bandstands from the 14th to the 16 of May, this year’s 10th anniversary of The Great Escape Festival sees headliners, Alabama Shakes, Kate Tempest and Skepta & JME rock the town.
2. Sunrise Celebration
Organic arts and music festival, Sunrise Celebration, takes place this year at Piercefield Park, Chepstow, in Wales from the 21st to the 24th of May. In an extravaganza of reggae, trance, dance, hip hop, cabaret and jungle beats, the line up includes Omar Perry & Homegrown, Sam and the Womp and GMS.
Hay-on-Wye hosts the world’s largest philosophy and music festival this year from the 21st to the 31st of May. Delight in a meeting of the minds with debates, film screenings, poetry readings, singers and performers, with headliners including Rae Morris, Simon Blackburn and East India Youth.
4. Sound City
Sound City is a 3 day festival of live music and arts in the city of Liverpool, running in tandem with a music industry conference. This year, from the 22nd to the 24th of May, The Vaccines, The Flaming Lips and Belle and Sebastian will hit the stage among a huge line-up of performers.
5. Lunar Festival
This one’s great for the whole family, with an area dedicated to play and creativity called Pink Moon Meadow, African drumming workshops, street theatre, Tai Chi classes, green crafts and a family disco, as well as performances by bands such as Tinariwen, The Fall and The Bootleg Beatles. It’s on from the 5th to the 7th of June at the Umberglade Estate, Warwickshire.
6. Field Day
As well as artists including Ride, Caribou, Patti Smith, Astronomyy and Chet Faker, Field Day Festival hosts its Village Fete, where you can compete in sack races, tug of war and egg and spoon races to add to the festival fun. It’s on in Victoria Park in the borough of Tower Hamlets from the 6th to the 7th of June.
7. Isle of Wight Festival
One of the most iconic festivals in the world, the Isle of Wight Festival kicks summer off with a bang from the 11th to the 14th of June. The stella line-up includes Fleetwood Mac, The Black Keys, The Prodigy, Pharrell Williams, Billy Idol, Counting Crows and Groove Armada.
Founded by DJs, Groove Armada, Lovebox is on from the 17th to the 18th of July in Victoria Park, London and day tickets are still available! Head there to check out Snoop Dog, Hot Chip, Cypress Hill, Mark Ronson and Rudimental.
9. V Festival
If you’d love to see Calvin Harris, Stereophonics, The Script, Ellie Goulding, The Kooks, Annie Mac and many more hot performers, get in quick for tickets to V Festival on the 22nd and 23rd of August at Hylands Park and Western Park.
