Destination Information

Our city guides aim to inspire and inform your next holiday. Our travel experts have explored the globe and we'll let you in on the best places to stay, eat and play in the most popular holiday hot spots, with price guides to fit in with your budget. Here's a rundown of what to expect and how the City Guides can help you launch on the holiday of a lifetime.

What To Do

Arriving in a new destination, without doing any research, can be exhilarating and frightening at the same time. It's fun to explore a new place and have no idea what to expect, but it's also good to know you're allocating time to see everything you want, without wasting precious moments on dead-end trails.

The City Guides give you an overview of some of the most popular attractions in each destination, as well as valuable information about the easiest spots to start your explorations from. We'll let you know where to go for the best beaches, the most beautiful nature walks and what's happening around town after the sun sets.

If there're festivals on at certain times of year, tips to beat crowds and queues or easy ways to get off the beaten track, we'll tell you about it. The City Guides will point you in the right direction of the 'must see' sights, so you can easily prioritise your own destination bucket list.

Where To Stay

One of the biggest decisions of any trip is deciding where to stay. With so many factors involved, such as budget, accommodation requirements and the all-important location, you could spend hours wading through options trying to find the right one.

As well as our weekly hotel deals and search tools, our City Guides give you options for hotels, based on budget from most expensive to least expensive. We only choose hotels with fantastic locations, so you can enjoy all the sights with minimum effort and we let you know if they're family-friendly, great for couples, singles or backpackers.

Where To Eat

One of the great joys of travel is exploring the food of a new region and sampling scrumptious, fresh produce from the land and sea! The City Guides give you a rundown of the type of food you can expect to find, plus an insight into the best local restaurants, based on budget and an opportunity to discover ethnic cuisine.

We know it's important to keep everyone happy, especially the most finicky eaters! Therefore, we'll also let you know if it's easy (or not) to find tastes from home, or just a good cup of tea, when you need them.
