If you’re a foodie and travelling to Spain, Italy, Denmark, Peru or the USA in the near future, you’re in luck!

They’re home to this year’s top 5 restaurants in the world, followed closely by the UK, Japan, Brazil and Thailand.

Spain takes the foodie crown, with two restaurants in the top 10 and seven in total, which is more than any other country on the Top 50 list!

We think that’s a good enough reason to book a Spanish holiday, right now!

Here’s what you can expect, when you go to one of the world’s top 5 restaurants:

1. El Celler De Can Roca, Spain

Founded in 1986, El Celler De Can Roca is run by the Roca brothers, Joan (the chef), Jordi (desserts) and Josep (sommelier). The free-style restaurant is committed to the avant-garde, with dishes combining a riotous mix of unusual ingredients. As a multi-award winning restaurant, the waiting list is ridiculously long, so book early…very early.

2. Osteria Francescana, Italy

A Michelin three-star restaurant, Osteria Francescana is chef Massimo Bottura’s domain, located in Modena. The discreet, elegant restaurant offers a full a la carte menu, as well as tasting menus, called ‘Tradition in Evolution’ and ‘Sensations’. The unconventional chef is known for his innovative dishes with equally eccentric names.

3. Noma, Denmark

Famous for creating food from quality, Nordic ingredients from the soil and the sea, chef Rene Redzepi’s restaurant, Noma, was opened in 2003 in a converted, harbour-side warehouse in Copenhagen. The menu is purely seasonal and the atmosphere is understated and charming.

4. Central, Peru

Located in the refurbished childhood home of chef, Virgilio Martinez, Central is celebrated for fresh, organic dishes made with diverse ingredients from the Peruvian terrain. You can try the ever-changing, seasonal menu, from the ocean, the mountains and the rainforest, by making a booking at least 60 days in advance.

5. Eleven Madison Park, USA

A New York favourite, Eleven Madison Park is a Michelin three-star, multi-award winning restaurant, serving a 12 to 15 course tasting menu that’s well-known for lasting hours. You’ll also enjoy interactive menu items and the fun, vibrant atmosphere created by co-owners, Daniel Humm and Will Guidara.
