Beaches in Goa are famous among beach lovers from all over the world. The smallest state in India enjoys a long coastline along the Arabian Sea, therefore a number of beautiful beaches, almost 50 in number. After visiting Goan beaches, I must say it’s never easy to choose only 10 beaches in Goa, especially when you’re in love with most of them.

Every beach has its own unique charm, giving you a reason to visit. While beaches in North Goa are crowded and offering tourist delights, the southern beaches are famous for relaxing. The shores are renowned for sunbathing, swimming, water sports, massage centres, beach shacks, restaurants, fishing villages, night markets, disco clubs, shopping stalls, etc. Whatever be your mood or wish, there is always a beach in Goa to visit.

So here are the top 10 beaches in Goa, selected among the best of the best which makes your vacation in Goa memorable.

1. Calangute Beach

Calangute beach is the Queen of beaches in Goa. The popular seashore offers the most exquisite experience for beach lovers in India. Popular among low-budget tourists and backpackers, the shores were popularized by the hippies in the 60’s including The Beatles who frequented it.

Get to the beach for water sports, markets, restaurants, good food, lots of accommodation options. Though a little crowded it is undoubtedly beautiful. Calangute is famous for its nightlife and the popular pubs of Goa.

 

2. Baga Beach

Baga Beach is a blessed beauty which inspires art creations. Named after the ‘Baga creek’, which flows into the Arabian Sea, the shores are pure natural bliss. Definitely a number 2 on my list as it has the best of amenities around it.

Enjoy beautiful sunsets, sunbathing, and clicking pictures. Try out the thrilling water sports, including parasailing and boat rides. The shores comes to life as the sun sets, shacks present delicious platters of food with upbeat music blasting and free-flowing booze.

 

3. Arambol Beach

A long stretch of unexplored shores, Arambol Beach is one of the places you visit to enjoy peace. It is surrounded by cliffs on two sides, a freshwater lake, thriving markets, and serenity.

One of the best beaches in Goa, be delighted in the bohemian feel here. Enjoy paragliding, kite surfing, swimming, and even hot mud baths, fed by hot springs. Arambol has a reputation of beach parties, a rich music scene and a soft corner for hippies.

 

4. Vagator Beach

Vagator beach is blessed with white sand beautifully contrasted with black rocks, and a 500-year old Chapora fort in the background. The crescent shaped beach has a laid-back feel, and as the sun sets it brings out its rave personality.
